RATS Summer Sports and Games
 Day Camp for 3rd-8th Graders

For: Entering 3rd through 8th Grade Girls and Boys

Location: Willard Middle School Playground
                2425 Stuart Street, Berkeley (cross street is Telegraph Avenue)

Dates: Weekly, Monday through Friday, June 19- July 28, 2017 (closed July 4)

Hours: 8am-5:30pm (all day!)

Cost: $200 per week, except as noted.

Recreation and Team Sports (RATS), the fun and exciting summer camp founded by “Coach Don” Arreola-Burl, is now enrolling! RATS is an affordable, play-all-day summer day camp for girls and boys entering grades 3-8. Kids of all ability levels are encouraged to participate in moderately competitive activities in a supportive, creative and instructive environment. Kids learn and play a variety of games, including basketball, baseball, touch football, soccer, ping pong, European handball, and a wide array of alternative and cooperative games. During "down time" they enjoy chess, checkers, foosball, board games, silly talent competitions and much more. This is a great chance for kids to try different sports and games and really learn the basics, as well as an opportunity for more experienced athletes to play in a diverse setting. No experience is necessary... just a desire to play!

Program Director “Coach Don” has over 40 years of experience operating recreation programs, coaching, and teaching physical education. Recreation and Team Sports is the fulfillment of his lifetime dream of creating a mixed-age, inclusive, affordable, "old-school" summer program in a community setting. The RATS staff includes several teens and adults that have grown up spending their summers at RATS.
